After 13 years of living in exile I finally got the chance to visit my home country Syria, and It broke my heart to see all that destruction. On the other hand, what many syrians learned this year is that hope doesn't die, even when we are scared of it. After 54 years the dictator is gone, and syrians are starting to rebuild, even before having any resources or support. I just love those spirits! I am lucky to have a friend Omar Malas who allowed me to see all of this through his eyes.
